How to Access Your Apps with the New Microsoft MyApps Single Sign-On

Body

Overview

Imperial Valley College has transitioned from PortalGuard Single Sign-On (SSO) to Microsoft MyApps to provide a more secure, modern, and unified login experience. This guide explains what changed, why it changed, and how to access your applications using the new Microsoft MyApps portal.

What Changed?

Previously, users logged into campus systems using PortalGuard. Now, all SSO authentication is handled through Microsoft myapps.microsoft.com, also known as the Microsoft MyApps Portal. Your login credentials remain the same (your IVC email and password), but the sign-in screen and the way you access apps have been updated.

Why the Change?

Moving to Microsoft MyApps provides several benefits:

Stronger security with Microsoft’s modern authentication and threat protection

  • One login for all apps (Canvas, Self-Service, Starfish, Office 365, and more)
  • Easier access through a clean and consistent dashboard
  • Better support for mobile and cloud-based services
  • Improved reliability compared to PortalGuard

This change aligns with IVC’s strategic plan to enhance cybersecurity and streamline user experience.

How to Sign In Using Microsoft MyApps

Launch your preferred web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).

2.  Go to the Microsoft MyApps Sign-In Page
