Microsoft MFA Setup

Follow the steps below to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for your Microsoft account.

1. Sign in to Microsoft My Apps

Go to myapps.imperial.edu and sign in using your account credentials.

2. Secure Your Account

After signing in, you will be prompted to secure your account.

Click Next to begin setting up MFA.

3. Set Up an Authentication App

You will be prompted to set up an authentication app on your mobile device.

The IT Department recommends using Microsoft Authenticator; however, you may use another authentication app of your choice.

4. Scan the QR Code

Open the authentication app on your mobile device and scan the QR code displayed on your computer screen.

Follow the instructions on your device to finish adding your account.

5. Verify Your Authentication

Microsoft will ask you to verify that MFA is working correctly.

A number will appear on your computer screen. When prompted on your mobile device, enter the number shown on your computer screen to approve the request.

6. Setup Complete

Once the authentication request is approved, your MFA setup is complete.

Click Done to finish.
