Upon accessing General Self-Service, users encounter the Personal Information section, which serves as a hub for viewing and editing personal details. These details typically include:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Residential addresses
  • Emergency contact information
  • And more

Users can edit or add new information by locating the respective button typically positioned in the top right corner of the profile page. However, it's essential to note that certain information may not be editable due to compliance with HR regulations and policies.

Action Item Processing

Another significant feature of General Self-Service is Action Item Processing. Under this section, users can find pending tasks or actions that require their attention. These tasks may include:

  • Agreeing to institutional policies
  • Confirming information accuracy
  • And other essential administrative tasks

For users with administrator privileges, Action Item Processing also facilitates the collection of various forms and acknowledgments from students or staff members. Examples include:

  • Employee address confirmation
  • Agreement to the institution's code of conduct

Accessing General Self-Service

Users can access General Self-Service through multiple pathways within the WebStar platform:

  1. Employee Quick Links: Upon logging into WebStar, users can locate the General Self-Service link within the "Employee Quick Links" card. This card typically appears prominently upon entering the platform, providing quick access to essential features.

  2. Navigation Menu: Alternatively, users can access General Self-Service through the navigation menu. By clicking on the waffle cone icon located at the top left corner of the interface, users can access a dropdown menu. From there, they can navigate to General Self-Service by selecting "Banner" followed by "General Self Service."
