Temporary Firefox Workaround for Authentication Issues
Applies To
What’s happening?
Following recent changes to our authentication environment, some users may encounter intermittent access issues when launching or navigating Banner Admin Pages. These issues may include errors during page load or when accessing specific forms.
Our team is actively monitoring the situation and working toward a long-term fix. Additional communication from leadership will be shared as it becomes available.
⭐ Most Reliable Workaround (Recommended)
At this time, the most consistent workaround is to access Banner Admin Pages using Firefox and disable Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) after the application has fully loaded.
Follow the steps below in order for best results.
Step 1: Open Firefox
Step 2: Sign in to Banner Admin Pages
-
Go to https://myapps.microsoft.com
-
Sign in with your IVC account if prompted
-
From MyApps, select the Banner Admin Pages tile
-
Allow Banner Admin Pages to fully load before proceeding
⚠️ Important: Do not disable Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) until Banner Admin Pages has finished loading.
Step 3: Disable Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP)
Once Banner Admin Pages has fully loaded:
-
Locate the shield icon in the Firefox address bar
-
Click the shield icon
-
Toggle Enhanced Tracking Protection to Off for the Banner site

✅ Disabling ETP allows required authentication and session components to function correctly for Banner Admin Pages.
Step 4: Continue working in Banner Admin Pages
-
Access your Banner forms as usual
-
Keep Firefox open while working in Banner Admin Pages
-
If you close Firefox, you may need to repeat these steps when signing in again
⚠️ Important Notes
-
This workaround is temporary and may need to be repeated
-
Disabling ETP applies only to the Banner site, not globally
-
Other browsers may continue to experience inconsistent behavior at this time
-
Simply refreshing the page may re-trigger authentication errors
🛠️ Additional Troubleshooting (If Issues Persist)
If you continue to experience authentication issues after following the steps above, try the following before attempting to sign in again.
-
Sign out completely
-
Clear your browser cache
-
Close Firefox completely
-
Reopen Firefox and repeat the steps above
-
Launch Mozilla Firefox
-
Go to https://myapps.microsoft.com
-
Open Banner Admin Pages from the MyApps tile
-
Allow the page to fully load
-
Then disable Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) for the Banner site
Optional Alternative
Instead of clearing your cache, you may also:
-
Open a Private / Incognito Firefox window
-
Sign in through https://myapps.microsoft.com
-
Launch Banner Admin Pages, allow it to fully load, then disable ETP
✅ Using a Private window can help bypass cached authentication data and is often quicker.
